RE:                   Awarding of Bakery Bids

 

 

Bids for Bread & Bakery Products were due on April 15, 2011.  The Food Service Directors met on May 5, 2011 to go over the bids and make recommendations.

 

The CENTER received bids from Nickles, Aunt Millie's Bakeries and Hostess Brands.  Prior to our evaluations, Nickles Bakery informed NIESC that their distribution in Indiana would cease as of June 18, 2011.  Aunt Millie's Bakery would be taking over Nickles Indiana distribution on that date.  Since Aunt Millie's did not bid the entire line of products on the NIESC bid, the committee asked Aunt Millie's if they would honor the Nickle's Bakery pricing on the bid.  Aunt Millie's agreed to do so.  The group did award the entire bakery bid to Aunt Millie's contingent on them honoring both the Aunt Millie's and Nickles full line of bid products and pricing.  Hostess did not receive an award based on the limited number of products they bid.
